Grindstugan (ie The gate cottage) got its name simply by lying by the gate to the area. The cottage was moved and rebuilt in the 1970s. In the living room you can see the old logs , providing a homely atmosphere. The ground floor is about 50 m2. 2008 we renovated the loft into a proper bedroom and one room was transformed into a modern bathroom with shower , toilet, sink and washing machine.

Even the kitchen got a facelift with new kitchen cabinets and a new sink. The kitchen has access to a stove, fridge , freezer and microwave. On cold days , the old kitchen stove can be lit and the warmth spreads throughout the house.

The living room has a fireplace for cozy evenings by the fire and a dining table with seating for 4 people. The cabin is equipped with a TV with a DVD player that has HDMI input connector if you want to bring your own equipment and connect . There is also free WI-FI, or wired if you prefer, access.

The house is located about 30m from the family’s private beach , which of course may be used by our guests. It is relatively shallow and the temperature tends to be around 20-22 in the summer. In the lake we usually fish for perch , pike and walleye . Note that a fishing license is required which we of course will help you to get. A boat can be hired, with or without outboard motor.

The house is primarily intended for three people , but it is possible to arrange extra beds. The loft can be reached by a relatively steep stair but there are handholds.
